Ilona Laskowska

Computational Design Team Lead at AiFi

Ilona Laskowska began their work experience in September 2015 as an intern at GEMMA Inwestycje, where they were responsible for checking structures and preparing drawings and materials schedules for a dwelling investment project. Ilona then worked as an Assistant at P.W. Molbud from October 2015 to December 2016, where they delivered construction inspections, conducted inventory assessments, and prepared construction documentation.

In September 2017, Ilona joined Arup as a Graduate Structural Engineer and worked in various roles until May 2022. During their time at Arup, they served as a Parametric Design Engineer, a Computational Design Engineer, and a Structural Engineer. Ilona'sresponsibilities included designing and integrating computational systems, specializing in parametric and computational design, and providing structural engineering expertise. Ilona also completed internships at Arup in 2017 and 2018.

Currently, Ilona Laskowska is a System Integration Designer and Computational Design Engineer at AiFi Inc., starting in June 2022.

Ilona Laskowska's education history begins with their enrollment at the XIV Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Stanisława Staszica w Warszawie, the top-ranking high school in Poland, where they pursued a math-physics profile. Ilona completed their high school education from 2010 to 2013.

Following high school, Ilona attended the Warsaw University of Technology from 2013 to 2017, earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Ilona'sfield of study during this period was focused on Civil Engineering.

Subsequently, they pursued further education at the Warsaw University of Technology from 2017 to 2019, obtaining a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structures. Ilona'sfocus during this time was primarily on structural engineering.

Simultaneously, from 2018 to 2019, they also pursued a Master's degree in Structures/Earthquake Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. This further indicates their passion for the field of structures and engineering.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Ilona obtained certifications to enhance their professional skill set. In 2021, they completed the DSE200x: Python for Data Science program from UC San Diego. Furthermore, in 2023, they achieved a professional level 3 certification in Grasshopper, a graphical algorithm editor, from McNeel Europe.

Outside of their traditional education, Ilona is currently enrolled in the PFR School of Pioneers business/startup program, set to complete it in 2021-2022.
