Katie Carr, M.Ed., currently serves as a Research Assistant at Harvard University within the Saul Zaentz Early Education Initiative, focusing on the Science of Reading, and as an Integrated Literacy Facilitator at the AIM Institute for Learning & Research. Additionally, Carr works as an ELA Curriculum Specialist at Concord Public Schools, overseeing literacy programs for over 450 students in kindergarten through Grade 5. As a Board Member of the Concord Children's Center, Carr is involved in the Personnel Committee and has presented on the implications of the Science of Reading for early childhood education. Previous roles include Instructional Coach for Literacy and Grade 1 Teacher at The Park School in Brookline, MA, and Grade 1 Teacher at Dedham Country Day School. Carr holds two Master of Education degrees from Lesley University in Reading and Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross.

The AIM Institute for Learning & Research is part of AIM, an education provider based in Conshohocken, Pa., that transforms and empowers lives through literacy. In partnership with AIM Academy, a 1-12th grade school for students with language-based learning differences, AIM Institute supports evidence-based literacy instruction for students and educators alike and seeks to bridge the gap between literacy research and classroom instruction. The organization's AIM PATHWAYS™ online professional development courses are created by educators in collaboration with top researchers. The courses, which are provided to individual educators and to partners including schools, school districts and state Departments of Education, focus on evidence-based best practices in literacy instruction and are aligned to IDA Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading.
