Ash Goorachurn

Ash Goorachurn has a wealth of experience in investment risk management and portfolio management. Ash served as the Managing Director of Investment Risk Management at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), leading a team responsible for providing risk oversight and advisory for investment activities. Prior to that, they worked at BCI as the Director of Public Markets Risk Management and the Director of Risk Allocation. Ash also held the position of Managing Director of Portfolio Management at Sun Life Financial, where they oversaw the general fund assets of the Canadian business group. Earlier in their career, they worked at Aegon as a Director, handling total fund portfolio and risk management, as well as pricing and risk management of various liability funding sources.

Ash Goorachurn completed a Bachelor of Mathematics - Honours Actuarial Science with a Statistics Minor at the University of Waterloo in 2002. Additionally, Ash obtained certifications including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute in 2009, Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals in 2007, and Fellow (FCIA) from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Fellow (FSA) from the Society of Actuaries in 2005.
