Sharon returned to university in Vancouver in 1976 to get her teaching degree and was hired by School District No. 57 where she worked until her retirement in 2011. She worked as a teacher of mathematics and sciences, Vice-Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent. Sharon returned to the School District in the school year 2015-2016 to serve as Interim Superintendent upon the retirement of Superintendent Brian Pepper. During her time with the School District Sharon worked for many students with special needs as well as school-based and district staff.
