James (Jay) Curtis is an experienced audio programmer with a diverse background in sound design, interaction design, and creative technology. Currently, James holds the position of Audio Programmer at Aimi since March 2022 and serves as a Laboratory Research Assistant at AudioKinetic Experiments Lab (RMIT University) from July 2015 to the present. James has also contributed to lysdexic since August 2008, focusing on audio production, media art tools, and DSP coding. In addition to these roles, James worked as a Data Scientist at Music Health from September 2020 to March 2022 and was a sessional lecturer at RMIT University from February 2017 to February 2022, teaching two courses on interactive systems and wearable technology. Previously, from 2008 to August 2015, James was the Director at Hopskotch Records, overseeing various creative and promotional activities. James is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Design with a focus on AI, ML, and sound design at RMIT University, following a First Class Honours Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Sound and Spatial Practice.
