Michael Christie is a highly experienced professional in intellectual property, currently serving as a Board Member at BioNSW and a Principal Patent Attorney at Spruson & Ferguson. With a background in molecular biology, Michael has held various roles including a consultant at IP Australia for Plant Breeder's Rights and a member of the AIPPI Standing Committee for Pharma and Biotechnology. Michael has authored commentary on the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994 for LexisNexis and served as Chair for the Ag Institute Australia. Previous positions include senior associate roles at MinterEllison and K&L Gates and post-doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology. Michael holds multiple degrees in biotechnology and intellectual property from The University of Queensland and the University of Technology Sydney.
