Eric Liu

Dr. Eric Liu is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced sub-specialty expertise in neuroendocrine cancers. He is a recognized leader in multi-modal treatment of neuroendocrine tumors and, specifically, in the use of theranostics. He was the first investigator in the United States to perform the 68-Gallium-DOTATATE PET/CT scan for neuroendocrine tumors. He is an invited speaker both nationally and internationally and contributes to national treatment guidelines.

Dr. Liu was educated at Harvard and Columbia Universities and trained in surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He developed a specialty neuroendocrine center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he was assistant professor of surgery and radiology, before moving to Colorado to establish the Neuroendocrine Institute at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in2015. He is the co-founder of the Healing NET Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization that supports education and advocacy for neuroendocrine tumors.
