Richard Vaughn

Richard Vaughn has worked in various legal and administrative roles since 2010. In 2010, they worked as a volunteer legal intern for the American Wind Energy Association, where they completed a research and writing project examining regulatory issues related to renewable energy transmission projects. In the same year, they also worked as a legal intern for Main Street Power Company, Inc., where they monitored and organized the company's legal document database and drafted legal documents. In 2011, they worked as a law clerk for MacNeil Law Group, PLLC, where they were responsible for filing documents and serving process and summons documents. Richard also worked as a research assistant for the University of Denver, where they updated teaching aids used in international instruction. In 2012, they worked as an attorney for Legal People, LLC, where they reviewed documents related to a bankrupt petroleum company, and as an attorney for Special Counsel, Inc., where they examined mortgage files to ensure compliance with published regulations. Richard also worked as a legal editor for LexisNexis, where they edited federal court and federal agency decisions, and as a volunteer attorney for Colorado Legal Services, where they assisted the Consumer Protection Unit with their case load. Since 2014, they have been working at Air Academy Federal Credit Union, where they are the Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, responsible for all legal and regulatory affairs, managing departments, and meeting organizational objectives. Richard is also responsible for contract drafting and negotiation, assisting the mortgage department, resolving member complaints, and reporting upcoming and pressing legal and compliance risks.

Richard Vaughn received their B.A. in Political Science and Atmospheric Science from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2007. Richard then attended the Mississippi College School of Law and obtained their J.D. in 2011. Richard furthered their education by attending the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law and receiving their LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resource Law in 2012.
