Lauris Mikelsons

Lauris Mikelsons has extensive experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on compliance, safety, and engineering. Lauris started their career in 1998 at airBaltic as a Flight Standards admin, where they worked until 2003. Lauris then joined easyJet as an Engineering Q&S Mngr for two years before returning to airBaltic in 2004 as an Engineering Manager. In 2007, they were promoted to the role of VP Compliance & Safety at airBaltic, where they currently work.

Lauris Mikelsons holds a Bachelor of Science in Aircraft and Power Plant Mechanics, design, and operations from Riga Aviation University, which they obtained between 1993 and 1998. Lauris also pursued further education at Cranfield University, where they earned a Master of Science in Air Transport Management from 2003 to 2004. In addition, Lauris attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 1994 to 1995, focusing on subjects such as Flight Safety, Airline Operations, Airport Master Planning, Space studies, and Human Factors.
