Jay Waterman

Materials Engineer at Air Force Research Laboratory

Jay Waterman is a highly skilled materials engineer with extensive experience in nondestructive evaluation and inspection technologies. Currently serving at the Air Force Research Laboratory since July 2024, Jay previously held roles at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division as both a Nondestructive Evaluation Engineer and Scientist, and Nondestructive Evaluation Team Lead, contributing to research and development for the fleet. As an Ultrasonics Research Consultant at mIQroTech, Jay focused on ultrasonic transducers and sensors. At NAVAIR, Jay was the S&T Lead for the Nondestructive Inspection Branch and worked on corrosion and nondestructive inspection research. Educational credentials include a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Canterbury and a BSME in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University.
