Laurent Valentin

VP Group Corporate Finance at Air Liquide

Laurent Valentin has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Laurent began their career at JP Morgan Chase, where they served as a Vice President in Global Project Finance & Advisory, specializing in project finance transactions for French clients. Laurent also had responsibility for multi-sourced export finance transactions.

Valentin then moved on to GE Capital, where they held various leadership positions, including Region Head for EMEA - Industrial Financing. In this role, they provided in-house financial advisory services to the industrial businesses of GE and oversaw sales financing. Laurent also coordinated Export Credit Agency financing activities and managed the relationship with the French Export Credit Agency.

Later, Valentin joined Accolade Advisors as Managing Director, where they worked until 2020. During their time at Accolade Advisors, they gained experience in managing director roles and provided strategic guidance to clients.

In 2020, Valentin joined Air Liquide, first as Director of Structured Finance, then as Deputy Head of Group Corporate Finance. Currently, they serve as the VP of Group Corporate Finance. Additionally, they serve as a Non-Executive Board Member for Air Liquide Arabia JV and Air Liquide Munay Tech Gases JV.

Throughout their career, Valentin has demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, structured finance, sales financing, project finance, and financing partnerships.

Laurent Valentin earned an MBA from the University of Hartford in 1987-1988. Prior to that, they studied Economie Finances at Sciences Po Strasbourg from 1983 to 1986. In addition, they hold a Private Pilot Licence from the Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile.
