Anand Makwana

Anand Makwana is a Senior Principal Research Engineer specializing in combustion technologies at Air Products, with experience dating back to May 2018. In this role, Anand has led product development initiatives for various combustion technologies, including air-fuel, oxy-fuel, and air-oxy-fuel systems, utilizing a Stage Gate process and focusing on diverse fuels such as hydrogen, natural gas, ammonia, and biomass. Prior to this position, Anand served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University from August 2013 to April 2018, where research concentrated on the effects of fuel molecular structure on emissions in jet flames and high-pressure combustion systems, particularly the integration of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into conventional aviation fuels. Anand's career began at Indian Oil Corp Limited, where responsibilities included operations and maintenance engineering from July 2010 to July 2013. Anand holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, as well as a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Surat and additional coursework from Harvard Business School Online.
