James Simard has over 18 years of work experience in the GIS field. James started their career as a Senior GIS Analyst and Wind Developer at E.ON U.S. in 2003, working on wind energy projects. In 2008, they joined EAPC Wind Energy Services as a Senior GIS Analyst. In 2011, James joined Verisk - Extreme Event Solutions as a Senior (GIS) Analyst, where they managed GIS editing teams remotely. James was promoted to the role of Manager and Senior Principal Analyst at Verisk in 2017. In this role, James established the Geospatial Technology Group and led a team of GIS professionals in data production, analysis, and process improvements. James is proficient in various GIS software and has expertise in flood modeling and data management.
James Simard attended Keene State College from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
