Dr. Uttara Joshi

Head of Strategic Initiatives at AIRA Matrix Private Limited

Dr. Uttara Joshi has a strong background in the healthcare industry with a focus on pathology and medical solutions. Dr. Uttara began their career in 2003 as a Consultant Pathologist at Golwilkar Metropolis Health Services, where they gained extensive experience in laboratory management, quality control, and clinical reporting. In 2012, they joined Optra Systems as a Senior Business Analyst, where they played a key role in product management and project management, particularly in the development of an affordable medical device for digital pathology. In 2015, Dr. Joshi transitioned to Poona Hospital & Research Centre as a Surgical Pathologist, specializing in neuropathology and respiratory pathology. Dr. Uttara was responsible for reporting histopathology specimens, conducting intra-operative frozen sections, and consulting with patients and clinicians on test requirements. Currently, Dr. Joshi is the Head of Strategic Initiatives and GM of Business Development at AIRA Matrix Private Limited, a company that focuses on machine learning and deep learning solutions for drug discovery and healthcare applications.

Dr. Uttara Joshi began their education at Holy Cross Convent School in Kolhapur, although the dates of their attendance are unknown. Dr. Uttara then attended Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in Karad from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in the field of Medicine. Following this, they enrolled at Government Medical College in Miraj from 1997 to 1999 to pursue a Diploma in Clinical Pathology within the field of Pathology. Dr. Joshi later attended Byramjee Jeejeybhoy (BJ) Medical College in Pune from 2001 to 2003, where they obtained a DNB degree in the field of Pathology.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Joshi has also completed several additional certifications. In February 2008, they completed a training course on Medical Laboratory Competence as per ISO 15189: 2003 and aspects of Internal audit at Quality Council of India. Dr. Uttara is also an empanelled NABL assessor, although the dates of this certification are unknown. Furthermore, they participated in a training course for Laboratory Quality Management System and Internal audit as per ISO 15189 for clinical laboratories at Indian Institute of Quality Management, Jaipur in August 2009. Finally, Dr. Joshi received training on laboratory competence as per ISO/IEC17025, 2004 from STQC Directorate, although the dates of this training are unknown.
