Laurence retired from AT&T Wireless Services in 2001. He held positions including vice president, global manufacturing and engineering; vice president, communications products sourcing and manufacturing, manufacturing research; development vice president; and director of engineering at two of the company's largest, most technologically advanced facilities, the Merrimack Valley Works in North Andover, Massachusetts and the Oklahoma City Works. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
