Bill Holtzman

Senior Software Development Engineer at Aireon

Bill Holtzman has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Bill started their career as an Engineer at Pratt and Whitney Government Products in 1985. Bill then transitioned to the FAA in 1988, where they served as an Air Traffic Control Staff Specialist and an Air Traffic Controller for over 27 years. During their time at the FAA, they developed administrative software and a scheduling system that became a model for the organization.

In 2004, Bill joined the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), where they held the roles of Senior Oracle Developer and IT Committee member. Bill built the organization's major business system, GATS, and developed and administered major software for managing labor grievances. This web application was deployed nationally and has over 300,000 grievances and 150,000 documents.

In addition to their work at NATCA, Bill was also involved with IFATCA as the NATCA Rep to the Technical and Operations Committee. Bill contributed to policy development and research on emerging technologies in air traffic control.

Bill's more recent experience includes roles at Mosaic Software US, Mosaic ATM, and Mosaic Data Science. At Mosaic Software US, they worked as a Software Developer from 2019 to 2022. At Mosaic ATM, they served as a System Engineer from 2016 to 2022, contributing to projects such as the MMIXM, AMMS, and Separation Automation Systems Engineering. At Mosaic Data Science, they worked as a Software Developer from 2016 to 2022.

Currently, Bill is a Senior Software Development Engineer at Aireon LLC, starting in October 2022.

Bill Holtzman attended Drexel University from 1980 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
