Joe McMullen

Joe McMullen's work experience includes holding various roles in different companies. Joe began their career at the Centre for Sustainable Energy, where they served as a LACE Intern, then transitioned to become a Research Project Worker and later a Senior Research Project Worker.

In 2016, McMullen joined AgilityEco as a Project Coordinator & Analyst, managing the CosyDevon Central Heating Fund and leading the delivery of urbaneer. Joe then became the Head of Projects, responsible for designing and delivering programs to support fuel poor and vulnerable households. After that, they served as the Director of Project Management, overseeing the operational delivery of energy advice, fuel poverty support, retrofit, and emergency response programs.

Most recently, McMullen worked at AirEx Technologies as the Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they were in charge of operations delivery, program delivery, and change management. Notably, they successfully completed the largest demonstration project for an innovative energy efficiency project in the UK.

Overall, McMullen has extensive experience in the energy industry, encompassing operational delivery, program management, and leadership roles.

Joe McMullen received their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from The University of Edinburgh, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Joe then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sustainable Energy Systems at The University of Edinburgh from 2012 to 2013. Prior to their university education, they attended St Cuthberts High School between 2001 and 2008.
