Luis Amat has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Luis started their career as a Computer Specialist at NOAA/AOML, where they led the development of a hurricane wind analysis system. Luis then joined Oracle as a Consultant and later as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, where they worked on various projects related to Java IDE and enterprise Java consulting.

In 2009, Luis co-founded CALANOA Software LLC and served as a Co-Founder until 2013. Luis then worked at TROVE - Predictive Data Science as EVP of Engineering, focusing on the fusion of smart meter data with consumer data.

Luis also held roles at Oracle USA as a Principal Member of Technical Staff and as a Consulting Technical Director. During this time, they worked on projects related to methodology and standards for Oracle Fusion Middleware and developed a consulting offering for J2EE framework.

In 2017, Luis joined VMS Communications LLC as the CTO, where they contributed to the development of their flagship product, LinkShot. Luis later joined Venture Hive as a Co-Founder and CTO, focusing on entrepreneurship education and innovation.

Currently, Luis holds the position of Chief Technology Officer at Airfind, a premium adtech marketplace for publishers and telcos. Luis has been recognized for their excellence in innovation, as Airfind won the 2021 Microsoft Advertising Recognition Award.

In addition to their professional career, Luis has also worked as a professional musician, specializing in saxophone and flute.

Luis Amat started their education journey in 1987 at the University of Miami, where they pursued a double major in Studio Music & Jazz and Music Education. Luis earned their Bachelor of Music degree from University of Miami in 1992. Following this, they proceeded to Florida International University and obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1996. Luis Amat continued their education at the same university, completing a Master of Science degree in Computer Science in 1998.
