Chief Political And Congressional Strategy Officer at Airports Council International - North America

Annie Russo has a significant background in government and political affairs, focused primarily within the aviation industry. Annie began their career as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman John W. Olver in 2001, and subsequently worked as a Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Steven Rothman from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they joined the team of Congressman Albio Sires as the Legislative Director.

Since 2008, Russo has been with the Airports Council International - North America, where they have held various roles of increasing responsibility. Annie served as Director of Government and Political Affairs from 2008 to 2010, followed by a promotion to Senior Director from 2010 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, they held the position of Managing Director, overseeing government and political affairs for the organization. Annie then served as Vice President from 2015 to 2018 and as Senior Vice President from 2018 to 2021, leading the government and political affairs department. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Political and Congressional Strategy Officer, where they continue to drive strategic initiatives and monitor congressional actions for the benefit of the aviation industry.

Annie Russo completed their education history with a Master's degree in National Security Studies from U.S. Naval War College in the years 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Public Policy from Smith College, where they attended from 1997 to 2001. Before their higher education, Annie studied at Frontier Regional School, although the specific dates and field of study are unknown.

Airports Council International - North America

Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) represents local, regional, and state governing bodies that own and operate commercial airports in the United States and Canada. ACI-NA member airports enplane more than 95 percent of the domestic and virtually all the international airline passenger and cargo traffic in North America. Approximately 380 aviation-related businesses are also members of ACI-NA, providing goods and services to airports. Collectively, U.S. airports employ more than 1.2 million people, support more than 11.5 million jobs, and account for $1.4 trillion in economic activity. Canadian airports support 405,000 jobs and contribute C$35 billion to Canada’s GDP.
