Michael Koech serves as the Environment and Social Lead at Airtel Africa since June 2022. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Senior Manager for Market Engagement in ClimateTech at GSMA from January 2022 to June 2022, focusing on leveraging digital technology for a low-carbon future. Michael's extensive experience includes significant roles at Safaricom PLC, where responsibilities spanned from Manager of Environment and Climate Change to Principal Environment and Sustainability Officer, as well as Safety, Health and Environment Manager at Savannah Cement and Unilever. Michael's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University.
