Kristian Ottestad Rød has diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kristian started their career at Esso Norge AS as an Operations Planner in the North Sea Department. Then, they joined the Norwegian Armed Forces as an Operator in an elite unit specializing in close protection and close-quarter battle. Following this, they worked as a Pleieassistent at Lovisenberg Diakonale Sykehus - Vår Frue Hospital. Kristian then transitioned to the engineering field, working as an Engineering Consultant at OBS Technology AS and BEIN Engineering AS. Kristian gained further engineering experience as a Project Engineer and Mechanical Completion Engineer at Kongsberg Oil and Gas, where they were responsible for project follow-up, fabrication, mechanical completion, and testing. Subsequently, they became a Subsea Engineer and Consultant at DNV GL, undertaking project management, design verification, certification of subsea equipment, technology qualification, and manufacturing assessment. Currently, Kristian is working at Airthings as a Product Manager, where they focus on agile and UX-driven software product development, project management, troubleshooting, customer support, installations, and solution testing in the field of IoT, IAQ monitoring, hardware development, SF development, and energy optimization.

Kristian Ottestad Rød began their education in 2009 at Oslo and Akershus University College, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. In 2013, they attended ITC Boreskolen/Drilling School to study GK Boring og Brønnteknikk. From 2015 to 2017, they pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Constructions and Materials at the University of Stavanger.
