Crew Rostering Team Leader

Reporting directly to the Crew Rostering Manager, the Crew Rostering Team Leader will oversee a small team of rostering officers out of our Malta based Operations Control Centre (OCC). The Crew Rostering Team Leader will help plan and execute the crewing and rostering requirements for all flights and ensure that this is done in accordance with all relevant regulations and safety requirements to ensure efficient, compliant, and effective operational outcomes. 

Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                                   

Supervising the Crew Rostering Team and delegating tasks so that the below are actioned in a timely manner:

  • Planning, maintaining and optimising rosters for crew and ensuring compliance with their contracts, the company policies, applicable Flight Time Limitations and training requirements.
  • Liaise with and maintain communication with associated departments, including Flight Support, Operations, Crew Support, Training, CAMO, HR and Post Holders for crew related plans and arrangements.
  • Monitoring schedule changes and provide timely and effective solutions to crew scheduling problems as and when they arise and amend any related planning, whilst also forecasting future requirements, to guarantee compliance with regulatory limitations as well as relevant company policies.
  • Ensure that rosters are prepared in accordance with FTL regulations and variations as approved by the regulatory authority.
  • Monitoring crew duty hours and block times to carefully and accurately manage crew fatigue and legal limitations.
  • Maintaining contact with crew members regarding their rotation and keeping a good professional rapport with the crew and the crew rostering department.
  • If requested by the head of department (HOD), action tasks deemed relevant or necessary to ensure smooth operation of the department or any other duties deemed relevant or necessary.

Skills and Requirements:                                                                                                                                                                                

  • The Crew Rostering Team Leader requires in depth knowledge of the Aviation industry as a whole and will need to be   able to understand the company FTL Scheme, EASA training and licensing requirements.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communicator, understanding the needs of others and answering queries efficiently.
  • Flexibility with working hours and in coherence with the daily workload.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under own initiative, independently as well as part of a team in a multicultural environment, strong leadership, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Highly motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
