Manager Data Engineering at Aiven

Stijn Zanders has a diverse range of work experience in data engineering, analysis, and consulting. Stijn is currently working at Aiven as the Manager of Data Engineering since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Data Engineer at Aiven from September 2020 to December 2021. Before joining Aiven, they worked as a Freelance Data Engineer for a brief period from June 2020 to September 2020.

Stijn also has experience in data analysis and engineering at MaaS Global Ltd, where they served as a Data Analyst/Engineer from January 2020 to June 2020. Stijn gained expertise in implementing document management systems and data migrations as a Systems Specialist at M-Files Corporation from February 2017 to January 2020. Notably, they led the complex data migration for Wärtsilä at M-Files.

Prior to their roles in the field of data, Stijn worked as the Owner of Gifted Monkeys, a web development company, from April 2012 to June 2017. Stijn also has experience as a Master Thesis student at EyeOn from March 2016 to September 2016.

In addition to their professional experience, Stijn has held leadership roles as the Chairman of Stichting Bedrijfskunde Congres Industria from March 2014 to November 2014 and as the Magazine Project Leader at ESTIEM from May 2013 to May 2014. Stijn has a background in web development, having worked as a Web Developer at Keistoer Interactieve Media from August 2009 to April 2012 and developing websites for various clients, including NTR.

Stijn Zanders holds a Master's Degree in Operations Management and Logistics from Eindhoven University of Technology, which they completed from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the same university, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Stijn Zanders also attended a Summer School program at LUT University in 2013, focusing on International Business, Advanced Strategic Management, and Systematic Approach to Inventive Thinking. Furthermore, they participated in the World Class Maintenance Summer School in 2015, specializing in Maintenance Management & Engineering. Stijn Zanders has also pursued various certifications, including Asynchronous Programming in C# and .NET Core from edX in October 2018, and Big Data Analysis with Apache Spark, Distributed Machine Learning with Apache Spark, and Introduction to Apache Spark from BerkeleyX in January 2017. Additionally, they completed courses such as Machine Learning from Stanford University via Coursera in December 2015, and Game Theory from the same institution in April 2015.
