Hassan Sawaf

Hassan Sawaf is the CEO and founder of aiXplain. Hassan was previously the director of Facebook AI, where they established a team that worked on AI and ML services in and around augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Sawaf specializes in dialog and multimodal systems, combining computer vision and natural language processing.

Before Facebook, Sawaf was the director of artificial intelligence at Amazon Web Services (AWS), building services and technologies to fuel Amazon customer initiatives with human language technology and machine learning. Some examples of the product family they oversaw include Amazon Transcribe, Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly, Amazon Rekognition, and Amazon Machine Learning.

Prior to their time at Amazon, Sawaf was the head of artificial intelligence at eBay.
