Peter Birch

Peter studied History at the University of Durham, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

In 1999 he joined a major international professional services network, eventually becoming a partner of the firm in 2011. In addition to acting as lead audit partner for several large, listed financial services clients, Peter also led the firm’s financial services audit and assurance practice in the regions from 2017 to 2021.

In 2022, Peter joined AJ Bell in the role of Chief Financial Officer, taking responsibility for the financial management of the business and for leading engagement with the Group’s key shareholders.
