Melissa Rooney

Melissa Rooney is an experienced writer, editor, and educator with a diverse background in children's literature and performing arts. Currently serving as a book reviewer for the New York Journal of Books and a performing arts reviewer for Triangle Review, Melissa also conducts writing workshops as a Writer in Residence at both Durham Public Schools Foundation and Summit School, where students create and publish anthologies of their work. Additionally, Melissa works as a grants writer for Urban Sustainability Solutions and holds various positions focused on educational outreach in the arts and sciences. An accomplished author, Melissa has written multiple children's books and serves as a senior editor for American Journal Experts. With a strong academic foundation, including a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Melissa's work blends creative writing with scientific education.
