Charlie Gero

Charlie Gero is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and product development, currently serving as an Advisor at Rafay Systems and as Chief Technology Officer at Akamai Technologies since February 2007. With a strong focus on Research and Development in Enterprise and Cloud Networking, responsibilities include solving complex problems, creating innovative technologies, and evaluating market viability. Charlie's career at Akamai has spanned various roles, from leading foundational software systems in the Cloud Networking Division to founding Akamai Labs. Prior experience includes a senior software engineering role at Merck & Co., Inc., founding eNovation Creations LLC, and software engineering positions at Pentamation and PenTeleData. Charlie holds dual BS degrees in Computer Science and Physics from Moravian University and additional education from Lehigh University.
