Derek Harkness

Derek Harkness is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in solutions engineering and product management. Currently serving as Principal Solutions Engineer for Carrier EMEA at Akamai Technologies since December 2012, Derek has held progressive roles including Senior Service Line Manager for Carrier Products EMEA. Prior experience includes a Systems Engineer position at Verivue and a decade at Juniper Networks as a Consulting Engineer. Derek's early career also features systems engineering roles at Unisphere Networks and Siemens. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from The University of Edinburgh, earned between 1983 and 1987.
