Marni Shymkus

Marni Shymkus has over 25 years of work experience. Marni began their career in 1993 as Operations Manager at Ad-Ex and Quick International. Marni then moved to Manticore Products, Inc. as General Manager/Director of Operations, where they managed, led and grew a small gift accessories wholesale company from start up through $1.7M in sales with 14 employees and 5 product lines. In 1998, they became Director of Operations at Streams Online Media Development. Marni then joined BeautyJungle.com as Director of Operations and Senior Account Manager, where they created a role for herself and helped to sign up prestigious companies. In 2000, they became a Consultant, Producer, Project Manager and Experience Designer at DiamondCluster International. Marni then moved to Pono Inc. as Co-Founder, providing freelance consulting services in small business operations and interactive project management. In 2003, they joined Pono Products Inc. dba ReusableBags.com / Reuseit.com as a Business Consultant and Board Member, helping to grow the business from a 1 person start up to a thriving 14 person company. In 2007, they Co-Founded Urban Prairie Waldorf School, serving on the Board for 3 years and acting as Treasurer and then Marketing Chair. In 2013, they started their own consulting business, Marni Shymkus Consulting, providing Strategic Brand, Business and Website Consulting. Finally, in 2015, they became Co-Founder of Akamai (Tribal LLC), a company that makes 100% natural, multipurpose, nutrient rich personal care essentials.

Marni Shymkus earned their BA in International Studies with a concentration in French Language and English Literature from Miami University in 1987. Marni then attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and earned their Graduate Gemologist degree in 1989.
