Wa’el Hashad

Wa'el Hashad is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Akari Therapeutics, Plc and Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board at Longeveron Inc, Hashad previously held significant roles including President and CEO at Avanir Pharmaceuticals and Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Seres Therapeutics. Hashad's tenure at Amgen included multiple senior positions, such as Vice President for Regional General Manager Middle East, Africa, and South East Asia. Earlier roles at Boehringer Ingelheim and Eli Lilly further solidified Hashad's expertise in marketing, commercial operations, and business development within cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. Hashad holds an MBA from The University of Akron and a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Cairo University.
