Dr. Dmitry Gridnev, FRM has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various sectors and roles. Dr. Dmitry most recently worked as SVP, Head of Risk Management at Akbank AG starting in January 2023. Prior to that, they served as Leiter Risikomanagement at VietinBank from July 2021 to December 2022. Dr. Dmitry began their academic journey at Saint Petersburg State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics from 1992 to 1996. Dr. Dmitry then pursued higher education at the University of Bergen (UiB) from 1996 to 1998, obtaining a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physics. Dr. Gridnev continued their studies at UiB, this time as a PhD student from 1998 to 2002, focusing on Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. During this period, they successfully completed their Ph.D., earning the prestigious degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Gridnev has also obtained professional certification as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) in February 2019, further showcasing their dedication to expanding their expertise outside of their primary field of study.
