Christian Barnes

Christian Barnes has a varied and extensive work experience in business development and leadership roles. Christian started their career as a Research Associate at the J. Craig Venter Institute in 2003 and worked there until 2006. After that, they joined NuPotential, Inc. and held the positions of Manager of Molecular Biology/Business Development Associate and then Director of Business Development from 2007 to 2012.

In 2012, Barnes moved to Nestle Health Science - Pamlab, where they initially served as the Manager of Pipeline Development and later as the Director of Pipeline and Business Development. Christian continued with Nestle Health Science-Pamlab in 2015 and became the Head of Business Development & Licensing.

Barnes then joined Nestlé Health Science in 2016 as the Director of Global Business Development until 2018. Following that, they worked at Mitocholine Ltd as a Member of the Board of Directors from 2020 to 2022. Simultaneously, they also joined ISOThrive Inc as a Member of the Strategic Advisory Board in 2019. Most recently, Barnes worked at Akebia Therapeutics, where they held the positions of Director, Business Development and then Senior Director, Business Development starting from 2019.

Christian Barnes has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, and a Master of Public Administration degree in Healthcare/Technology Administration from Louisiana State University.
