Petter Avaldsnes

Petter Avaldsnes is an experienced legal counsel specializing in the oil and gas sector, currently serving as Legal Counsel at Aker BP ASA since April 2018, providing legal support and guidance in upstream operations and compliance with the Norwegian Continental Shelf legal framework. Prior to Aker BP, Petter worked as a Senior Lawyer at Kluge Advokatfirma AS from September 2014 to March 2018, offering legal advice to both Norwegian and international clients in the oil industry, and held secondment positions at Premier Oil and BP. Petter’s earlier experience includes roles at Advokatfirmaet BAHR AS and Advokatfirmaet Selmer DA, where legal counsel was provided across various sectors including oil services and insolvency. Petter holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Bergen, obtained from 2004 to 2008.
