Cate Afrooz

Cate Afrooz is a Commercial Real Estate Associate at Akerman LLP, with a previous role as an Associate at Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, PC, where extensive due diligence and document negotiation were conducted. An alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Cate excelled as a Dean's Scholar and Public Interest Scholar and contributed to the Pittsburgh Journal of Technology Law and Policy. Legal experience includes law clerk positions at Millcraft Investments, Inc., Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, focusing on commercial real estate transactions and environmental law. Community engagement experience includes roles at the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh, improving urban neighborhoods, and an internship with the City of Pittsburgh evaluating open space. Education includes a B.A. in Urban Studies and Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh, a certificate from UC Berkeley, and a J.D. with a concentration in Environmental and Real Estate Law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
