Lina Patel

Lina Patel has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Lina is currently working as the Director of Quality Control at Akero Therapeutics since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Quality Control at Catalent Cell & Gene Therapy from November 2019 to July 2021. Lina also held various positions at Merck, including Director of Quality Operations Laboratory Technical Support from May 2017 to November 2019 and Director of Quality Operations Bio-Analytical Laboratories from September 2013 to May 2017. Before joining Merck, they worked as an Analytical Manager at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies from 2011 to 2013. Lina started their career as an Associate Director of Quality Control at Merck/Diosynth Biotechnology from 2006 to 2011, and prior to that, they were a Manager of Stability, Clinical Release, Raw Material, and Quality Control at Diosynth Biotechnology/ Akzo Nobel from 2000 to 2006. Their earlier roles include Manager of QA Clinical Phase I/II and Senior QA Specialist at Covance Biotechnology Services from 1998 to 2000 and Senior Associate Developmental Scientist at Bayer Pharmaceuticals from 1995 to 1998. Lina began their career as a Research Associate at Duke University in 1994 and worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Andcare Inc from 1993 to 1994.

Lina Patel holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University. Lina obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from Fergusson College.
