Valentin Fletes is a GIS Analyst I at Akimeka, LLC since November 2018, responsible for managing and editing the emergency response geographic databases for Honolulu County, including verifying and distributing updated MSAGs and addressing errors from the 9-1-1 center. Previously, Valentin served as a Content Editor at TechMIS from April 2017 to October 2018, translating news media text from Spanish to English in support of a DHS contract. Valentin also has a background in the US Army, serving from October 2011 to August 2014 as a Sergeant First Class and Ranger Instructor, focusing on advanced small unit infantry tactics and waterborne operations. Valentin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and completed General Education in Psychology at the University of Hawaii-West Oahu.
