Raiyan Kamal

Raiyan Kamal has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Raiyan currently holds the position of Lead Engineer at Akindi, where they are responsible for building a new engineering team for an education tech company. Prior to this, they worked with Doctalk as a Technical Advisor in 2019. Raiyan has also been involved in the Open Source Community since 2000 as a Contributor.

From 2018 to 2019, Raiyan served as the Lead Software Engineer at ADESA, where they played a key role in software development. In 2016, they were the Head of Engineering at Blockthrough, overseeing the software development process and spearheading several projects related to online advertising. At Blockthrough, they also held the role of Lead Developer from 2016 to 2017.

Before that, from 2014 to 2016, Raiyan worked at IOU Concepts as a Senior Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included all aspects of building a real-time platform for running gamified campaigns for positive social impact. Raiyan was also a Software Development Contractor at Rogers Communications in 2014.

Raiyan began their career at Mukto Software Ltd. as a Software Engineer, specializing in web technologies and mobile platforms. Raiyan worked at this offshore software development house based in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2009 to 2011.

Furthermore, Raiyan has experience in academia. In 2012, they served as a Webmaster at OPIRG Windsor and as a Research Assistant at the School of Computer Science at the University of Windsor. Raiyan also holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Windsor, where their research focused on trajectory optimization for mobile data collectors in hierarchical wireless sensor networks.

Raiyan Kamal completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in the years 2004 to 2008. Raiyan further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Windsor in 2012 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Raiyan obtained the certification of a Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. in January 2019.
