Atle Misund has extensive work experience in various technical roles. Atle started their career in the Royal Norwegian Navy as a Maskin offiser from July 1996 to December 2000. Afterward, they worked as a Maskinsjef at Sjøvik AS for nine months in 2001. Atle then joined Havila as a 1 maskinist from September 2001 to August 2002. From 2002 to 2004, they worked as a 1 maskinist at Olympic Shipping AS. At National Oilwell Varco, they served as a Servicemekaniker from January 2005 to September 2006. At Olympic Shipping AS, they had two roles, including 1 maskinist from October 2006 to June 2007 and Maskinsjef from June 2007 to December 2010. Atle Misund attended Tromsø maritime skole from 1998 to 1999, where they studied Maskinsjef. Prior to that, between 1992 and 1993, they attended Ålesund maritime skole, where they completed VK 2 tekniske maritime fag (technical maritime subjects).
