Niro Ramachandran

Niro Ramachandran is the current Chief Business Officer at Akoya Biosciences. Niro has also served as the Vice President of Spatial Biology Business Unit at NanoString Technologies, Inc. from July 2014 to September 2020. In this role, Niro worked to expand Nanostring's applications from gene expression analysis to spatial analysis. Niro also led the effort to create, develop and shape a rapidly emerging market by launching Nanostring's first spatial analysis solution, GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler. Prior to their work at NanoString Technologies, Inc., Niro worked as an R&D Manager at Life Technologies from January 2008 to July 2014. In this role, they were responsible for managing the protein analysis product portfolio comprising of protein electrophoresis gels and western blotting reagents and devices. Niro also oversaw the production, distribution and service of the Human protein array (ProtoArray and ProtoPlex) products. Niro has a wealth of experience in product development, having launched over 10 products ranging from reagents and devices to integrated systems during their time at Life Technologies. Niro is also a protein enthusiast with a strong interest in various protein technologies and their applications in biomarker discovery and validation. Niro is an experienced strategic planner who has developed product roadmaps for both Life Technologies and NanoString Technologies, Inc.

Niro Ramachandran achieved a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Windsor.

Niro Ramachandran reports to Brian Mckelligon, CEO. They work with Marilee Moy - Chief People Officer, Pascal Bamford - SVP, R&D & Laboratory Operations, and Sundiep Phanse - VP, Product Management.
