Karen is a skilled leader who ably guides AKRF’s remarkable, nearly 40-year-old legacy of work that has shaped some of the country’s most consequential development and infrastructure initiatives.

Karen is an inspiring CEO who actively promotes the firm’s values of Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Responsiveness, and Strategic Thinking. Previously as director of the Engineering Department, Karen led major New York City initiatives to bring coastal resiliency and sustainable infrastructure to local communities. Putting her dedication and skills to work, Karen has led AKRF in much of its infrastructure planning and design work, which includes such projects as East Side Coastal Resiliency, New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Infrastructure Program, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Governors Island, and the Cornell Tech Applied Sciences Campus.
