Collections Manager & Exhibition Registrar at Akron Art Museum

Stephanie Petcavage is the Collections Manager & Exhibition Registrar at Akron Art Museum. Stephanie has also worked as a Collections Manager/Curator at BAY VILLAGE HISTORICAL SOCIETY and a Preparator/Courier at Canton Museum of Art. Stephanie is responsible for overseeing all collections activities and ensuring high standards of care and handling of collection from acquisition to preservation to display. Stephanie also researches and develops exhibitions, manages proper storage safety, pest infestation, and cleaning routines with archival-safe supplies, updates inventory, catalogs, and manages databases, and develops and implements policies and standards for acquiring and disposing of objects. In their role as a Preparator/Courier, Stephanie also assisted the curation department with all physical aspects of the collection, including installation, deinstallation, packing, and unpacking of loans, and care and handling of valuable art objects. Stephanie also assisted in the construction and preparation of props, mounts, backgrounds, wall graphics, labels, and lighting. Stephanie has a deep understanding of the care and handling of valuable art objects and the importance of proper storage and transport of these objects.

Stephanie Petcavage has a Master of Arts in Art Stephanie'story, Criticism and Conservation from the University of Cincinnati, a Museum Studies Certificate in Museology/Museum Studies also from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Stephanie'story, Criticism and Conservation from Kent State University. Stephanie also has a Bachelor of Arts in Art Stephanie'story, Criticism and Conservation from Hiram College.

Stephanie Petcavage reports to Jon Fiume, John S. Knight Director & CEO. They are on a team with Joseph Walton - Director, Design, Mary Boylan - Director, Accounting, and Malissa Vernon - Marketing & Communications Manager.
