Christina Hodgkinson has extensive experience in various roles within the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) and other organizations. Christina started their career with AMHA in 2006 as a Family Self Sufficiency Program Case Manager, where they provided support and services to residents. Christina later became a Program Coordinator, leading the implementation of a federally funded public housing homeownership program. In this role, they managed budgets, coordinated grant activities, and maintained relationships with community partners.
In 2012, Christina joined the Summit County Educational Service Center as an Executive Assistant/Grants Coordinator, where they provided leadership and support to district and ESC Staff. Christina also played a key role in developing partnerships and collaborations between the center and school districts.
Returning to AMHA in 2014, Christina served as the Director of Planning and Program Development before assuming the role of Director of Resident Services. In this position, they oversaw various service coordination efforts for over 20,000 low-income residents. Their responsibilities included maintaining stable communities, promoting economic independence and educational attainment, and improving overall quality of life.
Christina also served as the Board Vice President/Secretary for Building for Tomorrow, a 501c3 instrumentality of AMHA that supported Resident Services funding. In this role, they helped secure non-federal funds to meet funding gaps and further program goals.
Throughout their career, Christina has demonstrated a strong commitment to community development, service coordination, and improving the lives of low-income individuals.
Christina Hodgkinson's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Kent State University, which they pursued from 1999 to 2003. Later, in 2012-2013, they attended Malone University and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Organizational Leadership.
