AKT II
Iason Pelekis is a Senior Engineer at AKT II since May 2020, specializing in client communication and brief interpretation while proposing structural solutions through parametric investigations. Prior experience includes a role as a Design Engineer, focusing on structural analysis and design compliant with Eurocodes utilizing various advanced software and programming languages such as SAP2000, Sofistik, Rhino, Matlab, and Python. Iason served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley from October 2018 to March 2019, where a computational model was developed in OpenSees to assess nonlinear dynamic soil-structure interaction and seismic performance. Iason holds a PhD in Earthquake Engineering and an MRes in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment from the University of Cambridge, a MSc in Earthquake and Civil Engineering Dynamics from The University of Sheffield, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras.
AKT II
AKT II is a design-led structural and civil engineering consultancy that has won over 300 awards for its work in the UK and across the world. The practice was formed in 1996 as Adams Kara Taylor and later known as AKT. In 2011, with the addition of two new Principals and as the next chapter in its progress, the practice was renamed AKT II. We believe in providing a high value and quality-driven model which draws on a wealth of experience through to the successful delivery of a project. In addition to the project work undertaken we work with academic institutions, industry forums, and design councils to enrich our knowledge and the projects on which we collaborate.
