Ioannis Gkikas is an experienced professional in architectural engineering and façade design, currently serving as Associate Director at AKT II since July 2023. Prior to this role, Ioannis held the position of Design Manager at PAYE Stonework & Restoration Ltd from January 2018 to July 2023, and worked as a Facade Engineer at Buro Happold from July 2014 to December 2017. Ioannis began the career with a student internship at Rollecate in late 2013 and gained early experience as a Technical Architect at Mr. & Mrs. Koufopoulos Associates in 2010. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree in Building Construction Technology (Facade design) from Delft University of Technology (2012-2014) and a Master's Degree in Architectural Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2006-2012).

AKT II
AKT II is a design-led structural and civil engineering consultancy that has won over 300 awards for its work in the UK and across the world. The practice was formed in 1996 as Adams Kara Taylor and later known as AKT. In 2011, with the addition of two new Principals and as the next chapter in its progress, the practice was renamed AKT II. We believe in providing a high value and quality-driven model which draws on a wealth of experience through to the successful delivery of a project. In addition to the project work undertaken we work with academic institutions, industry forums, and design councils to enrich our knowledge and the projects on which we collaborate.
