Ichiro Matsumura

Ichiro Matsumura is an accomplished protein engineer and scientific advisor with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as Associate Director of Lead Discovery at Aktis Oncology, Ichiro specializes in engineering proteins that direct radioactive atoms to tumor cells. In addition, as a Scientific Advisor at Sūneco Technologies, Ichiro provides strategic guidance and develops grant proposals. Previously, Ichiro held the position of Associate Director of Strain Development at Bond Pet Foods, applying metabolic engineering skills to create new microbial strains. With a background as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Biochemistry at Emory University, Ichiro focused on evolving proteins and bacterial cells. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Emory University, and a BS in Life Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
