AKUA Mind & Body
Chanel started her career as an AOD counselor in 1999, after becoming sober in 1997. During her 20-year journey, she became a Registered Addiction Specialist II, a Certified Women's Treatment Specialist, received her Substance Use Disorder Counselor Certification (SUDCC). She has had the opportunity to work in various cultural settings, such as the Methadone Maintenance Modality, the California Department of Corrections, the Sac-Folsom State prison to name a few. Through her own personal experiences and opportunities, Chanel has developed a passion for people. As a result, she has spent the better part of her life helping others overcome hardships. She believes the best reward in her journey has been to witness broken individuals, who were once hopeless, finally find healing and recovery.
