Karim El Srouji

Karim El Srouji, CISM, currently serves as the Head of Cyber Security, IT & Cloud Operations at AKUR8 since September 2024. Previously, Karim held the role of Chief Information Security Officer at Lifen from April 2022 to November 2024, where responsibilities included defining the Security and Compliance strategy, ensuring compliance with business requirements, and reporting key risks to the leadership team. Prior to this, Karim was a Senior Manager in Cyber Risk & Compliance at GE Renewable Energy from May 2018 to April 2022, leading data privacy incident investigations and establishing compliance frameworks for global data privacy regulations. Karim's earlier experience includes roles at GE as a Senior Associate in Corporate Audit Staff and in the Information Technology Leadership Program, as well as consulting at Shift Technologies, where project engagements spanned the GCC region. Karim earned a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut and completed executive education in Cybersecurity for Managers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
