Murugesh Palani

Murugesh Palani is the Vice President of Finance at Al-Sagr National Insurance Company. Murugesh has over fifteen years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in financial management and reporting.

Murugesh began their career in 2005 as a Finance Manager at Janashakthi Insurance Co Ltd. Murugesh was responsible for managing the company's external audit and statutory reports, as well as overseeing the financial management and reporting of the company. In 2008, they joined National General Insurance Co. (PSC) as a Finance Manager.

At National General Insurance Co., Murugesh was responsible for developing models and detailed accounting papers for the implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9. Murugesh was also a team member for the implementation of IFRS 17 with consultant and external vendor. In addition, they assisted in developing business plans for the top management, analyzed management accounts, investment reports, and credit control aging report on a periodical basis.

In 2019, Murugesh joined Al-Sagr National Insurance Company as Vice President of Finance. In their current role, they are responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting of the company. Murugesh is also responsible for hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff, as well as strengthening the internal control system and ensuring compliance with insurance authority and other regulatory bodies.

Murugesh Palani is a finance professional who has earned the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification in business finance. Murugesh also has an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute Of Management at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
