Brent Howard is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in various accounting and financial management roles. Currently serving as Controller at Alabama Ag Credit since February 2022, Brent has previously held similar positions at Lakeland Electric and Cherokee Electric Cooperative, where Brent served as CFO for nearly 22 years. Additional experience includes a role as Comptroller at Fort Payne Improvement Authority and an early career position as Staff Accountant at McGriff Dowdy & Associates P.C. Brent's foundational experience includes serving as a Specialist (E-4) in the U.S. Army, specifically in the Protocol section of the Secretary of the General Staff (SGS) at VII Corps. Brent holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Jacksonville State University, earned between 1992 and 1994.
Alabama Ag Credit
Alabama Ag Credit, headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, provides short- and long-term loans for farms, timber and forestry operations, agribusinesses, recreational land and other rural property in the lower 40 Alabama counties. The financing co-op operates offices in Demopolis, Dothan, Enterprise, Montgomery, Monroeville, Opelika, Selma, Spanish Fort and Tuscaloosa. The association is a member-owned, locally controlled cooperative that is part of the national Farm Credit System established in 1916.
