Barry May

Barry May has over 15 years of work experience. Barry is currently serving as the Executive Director of Workforce and Economic Development at The Alabama Community College System since February 2019. Prior to this role, they held the position of Deputy Director of Workforce and Economic Development at the Alabama Community College System starting from February 2017.

Before joining the Alabama Community College System, Barry worked as a Regional Manager - Project Operations at LED FastStart from October 2013 to February 2017. In this role, they managed projects and client relations, as well as the operations of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology.

From September 2011 to September 2013, Barry worked as a Business Unit Manager at Gardner Denver Thomas. Barry oversaw the assembly department, resolving manufacturing process issues and promoting company production objectives.

From 2009 to 2011, Barry worked as a Project Manager at Louisiana FastStart. Prior to this, they served as a Quality Manager at Franke from February 2007 to May 2009 and as an Industrial Engineer/Area Manager at Danaher Tool Group from April 2005 to February 2007.

Barry May completed their Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Barry then pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Management at Northeastern State University from 2000 to 2002. Barry'sfield of study in both degrees was focused on industrial management and engineering.
